Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Konstantinos Trokanas, operating Zoaki ("Zoaki", "we", "us"), governing your access to and use of the Zoaki app and website. By creating an account or otherwise using Zoaki, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Zoaki.

2. What Zoaki is

Zoaki is a marketplace that lets pet owners ("Owners") find and book independent pet sitters ("Sitters"), and lets Sitters offer their services and get paid for them. Zoaki facilitates the connection and payment between Owners and Sitters — we are not a party to the pet-sitting arrangement itself, and Sitters are independent third parties, not employees, agents, or contractors of Zoaki.

3. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use Zoaki.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity on your account.
• Each person may hold one account. You may use Zoaki as an Owner, a Sitter, or both.

4. Sitter verification

Before publishing a listing, Sitters must complete an identity check through our payment processor's identity verification service. This check confirms that a Sitter's identity document matches the person using the account — it is not a criminal background check, and it does not constitute a guarantee, endorsement, or recommendation by Zoaki of any Sitter's skill, character, or suitability. Owners are responsible for their own judgment and due diligence when choosing a Sitter, such as messaging them beforehand and reading reviews.

5. Bookings and payments

When an Owner requests a booking, we place an authorization hold on their card for the estimated total. If the Sitter accepts, the booking is confirmed; the card is charged, minus Zoaki's platform fee, and the remainder is paid out to the Sitter through our payment processor once the booking is fulfilled. If the Sitter declines, or doesn't respond in time, the authorization is released and the Owner is not charged. All payments are processed in EUR through Stripe, and are subject to Stripe's own terms in addition to these Terms.

You agree not to circumvent Zoaki's payment system for a booking made through the platform — for example, by arranging to pay a Sitter directly outside the app to avoid the platform fee.

6. Cancellations

Cancellation windows and any related fees are shown on the booking itself before you confirm it, and may change as we improve the service — the terms shown at the time of your booking apply to that booking.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Provide false information, including about your identity, your pet, or your qualifications as a Sitter.
• Use Zoaki for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful.
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against another user.
• Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with Zoaki's security, rate limiting, or payment systems.
• Scrape, copy, or resell any part of the service without our written permission.

8. Reviews and content

Reviews must reflect your genuine experience. You keep ownership of the content you post (profile details, photos, messages, reviews), but you grant Zoaki a license to display it within the app as needed to operate the service — for example, showing your review on a Sitter's public profile. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Zoaki is a platform that connects Owners and Sitters; we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any Owner or Sitter, including but not limited to injury to a pet, property damage, or personal injury arising from a booking arranged through Zoaki. Owners and Sitters are solely responsible for the arrangements they make with each other. Zoaki does not provide insurance for bookings, and we recommend both Owners and Sitters consider their own appropriate coverage.

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zoaki's total liability arising out of your use of the service is limited to the amount of platform fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that can't be limited under applicable law, or any statutory rights you have as a consumer that these Terms cannot override.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Zoaki harmless from any claim arising from your breach of these Terms, your use of the service, or a booking you enter into with another user.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, or where necessary to protect the safety or integrity of the platform. You may stop using Zoaki, or delete your account, at any time — see our Privacy Policy for how.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you additional rights that can't be waived by contract. If a dispute arises, please contact us first at privacy@zoaki.online so we can try to resolve it directly.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll notify you through the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Zoaki after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
